I feel like level 0 is "Killmonger is the villain because Black Panther is the hero"
Level 1 is "Killmonger is actually a hero just misunderstood"
and Level 2 is "Killmonger is a complicated, nuanced character but he's definitely a villain in the world he's in".

He's a villain with a sympathetic motive. But I also don't really blame people for seeing his character and what he wanted to do with Wakanda as an escapist fantasy due to what has happened throughout history and even during modern times.

Your argument is as long as someone views you as a hero, you're a hero in their eyes. Which goes to my follow up post. Actual actions in life be damned. I could genocide most of the world in cold blood! As long as I have a base that adores me as a hero....cold blooded genocide be damned, one can argue I have the storybook qualities of a hero!!

Through one's feelings and perspective, we can call anyone a hero, regardless of their actions in life!

I get that your post is mocking what I said, but that's not an argument in and of itself.

I think a better example than something like Hitler was all of the post-9/11 Pro-America fiction that came out afterwards. Gritty spies and counter-terrorists doing whatever it takes (whether that's torture, threatening innocent people or disobeying orders) to stop terrorist attacks that were really a big fantasy to feel like America was safe, in control and that the people protecting us are morally correct to stop it from happening again. Usually focused on people from the Middle-East being bad too.

Killmonger provides a similar fantasy for a lot of people. A liberation and shift of power that isn't going to actually exist in the real world.

He wasnt racist for putting his own people first after witnessing what was happening to them and his own father who stopped ignoring them.

He wanted to murder anyone who wasn't black and had any type of power. He then also wanted to murder anyone who had a problem with murdering all the non-black people in charge. If that's not racism then racism just simply doesn't exist.

Killmonger would've had to kill T'Challa to become ruler. T'Challa never died though, so he was still the rightful ruler. Killmonger committed a coup and T'Challa worked with the CIA to restore the legitimate government.

Because Killmonger seems to have the same style of psychopathy with I get to decide who lives and who dies and killing anyone who gets in his way, but with the added bonus of trying to start wars instead of successfully ending them.

Actually, now that I think about it. I'm curious how much he'd have cared about wakanda if it was just some typical 3rd world with nothing unique or special about it.

If there was nothing special about it, he wouldn't have been sent off as a War Dog.

The fight was one on one battle. Killmonger was stopped from winning by Forest Whitaker, then T'Challa was literally saved by his family and the Mountain Tribe.

So how is T'Challa is out of this . He cheated , was saved by outside party only lived because of that.

People really seem to overlook the part where he literally said he wanted to kill children.

Yeah, the henchmen are violent criminals trying to kill others. Not innocent. Killmonger killed civilian musuem guides and goers who were simply at the wrong place at the wrong time. Unless you're saying any civilian of an "oppressor" society are complicit and therefore ok to kill which is a genocidal and terrorist's mindset.

Did the museum lady die though? It's never really specified and i just assumed they knocked her out. The security guards were killed by Klaue though. Like i said though killing is a means to an end for him. The museum heist was part of the plan.

Yeah idk why he wouldn't give Wakandas money to impoverished nations or people, giving guns to radicals to start a world war genocide seems pretty villainous
