I'm mildly intrigued by this. If it works, that's great. If it doesn't, oh well.

Either way, it means the character is being brought back. If they fumble the ball, someone else will likely pick it up in the near future. Maybe Zorro and Mickey Mouse can exchange advice on how a character can be more than a century old and still evade falling into the public domain.

It could still technically happen. Zorro "belongs" to Zorro Productions. They could be doing a show with Disney and a movie with whoever owns the rights to Django.

Zorro's alter ego is an aloof rich guy. He'll definitely bring some comedy schtick to the part.

Well while I would watch it regardless, my dream would be for Antonio Banderas to reprise the Zorro role. Which means they'd have to start filming soon since he's not getting any younger lol

If the Django/Zorro crossover could have Antonio Banderas as an aging Zorro, that would be awesome. In terms of the timeline, it would sync up quite nicely with when the 1998 movie was set.

I believe the comic is about an aging Zorro, which is why it was originally pitched with the idea of Banderas. So yeah, it would be too perfect (which means we may not get it cause the Universe has a sick sense of humor.)
