Someone apparently hacked our company payroll system. Instead of just paying us and figuring it out my company has decided they will pay us the discrepancy next week. This is such bullshit. Weve all been doing mandatory overtime during peak season.

Fuck corporate America and fuck piece of shit hackers screwing thousands of people right before Christmas.

A supermarket chain (Kroger) paid their employees extra during the shutdowns and early wave of Covid. After summer came and the lockdown ended, management notified the employees that they accidentally paid too much extra, and the employees would have to pay back the extra amount.

It's shitty they can just withhold pay for a week. They don't know your financial needs, especially during the holiday season.

Its not even that I need the money right now. Im fine without it. Its about the fact that I know they have the money and instead of the company taking the loss they pass it onto us which is fucked up.

I also dont want to have to go back and make sure they paid me everything owed which I dont trust them to do.

The company always makes sure they get their money on time but has no problem with employees not getting theirs on time. Thats my issue.

Thats fucked and I would honestly quit if my company tried to take money from me after the fact like that.

Does your company use Kronos, TC? It's down globally. My organization is also affected.

Isnt it illegal to withhold pay? If the issue is their system was hacked and they dont know what to pay you, thats not the employees concern. If the issue is that the system is down and they cant pay you, thats also not the employees concern and the business should have planned better

So what I just learned from an above poster is that Kronos is down globally which is what my company uses. Either way like you said its not my problem or any other employees problem.

It is absolutely insane to me they think its ok to just tell people that their pay is being withheld.

If a worker's pay is being delayed, so should their labor until they get their check.

I really considered telling them Im not coming back until they pay me what is owed but it would just cost me more money.
