One of the doctors I work with said he made a mistake voting for Biden, and that Biden is setting the stage for Trump to come back. Many doctors are drowning in debt and worked grueling hours on the front lines of COVID.

And Democrats themselves are at fault. They never do anything when in power, and when someone wants to, like Bernie, they do everything in their power to stop them. Nobody to blame but themselves.

Gonna preface this with, I absolutely agree that dems are not doing enough when in power... but I think some of you are a bit too optimistic in regards to what will actually draw in votes when it comes to elections and how actually popular some ideas are in the public.

I mean, it was a fantasy to believe they would follow through with relieving student dept.

I don't see how anyone could sensibly believe they were actually going to do it.

It was an obvious "not gonna happen" from the get go.

While this is true, there are also plenty of things that are clearly popular with voters on both sides (federal legalization of marijuana being a primary example) that Democrats haven't been willing to tackle with anywhere near the effort they should.

Plus, it's just going to have to be a slow, gradual process. We can't expect to convert to Social Democracy overnight, but even putting in an effort to dispel a lot of the misinformation going on around things like universal healthcare or workers' rights would bring these ideas into the mainstream.
