I think Psychonauts should be higher

Insane that it didn't win a single award at the game awards. Deathloop snubbed it twice for music and art

Didn't Halo Infinite literally just come out? Putting it in the top spot makes the whole list feel questionable

Feels like that's also the list of the 10 games that came out this year

My brother subscribes to their magazine. I don't get their rankings since Returnal is 4th but was their highest rated game of the year.

Never underestimate the power of recency bias.

even though Halo Infinite might have come out recently, those who work in video game media often get a chance to play games weeks before their release, so they could have had a good deal of time to think over their ranking.

Reviews tend to be the work of one person, while a list like this would be the opinions of the whole editorial staff
