Correction, no one wants to work a shit job for $7.50 an hour anymore. People will work if they make enough working a full time to eat and live without 3 jobs.

That's said i went to IHOP last month and hated that the place was stacked shoulders to shoulders with people (as normally) lol. Absolutely hated it but food was banging

Yeah I mean we can't really find workers where I'm at either and we're offering $21.30 hourly, plus monthly commission, and you're in a union. And this is in a small city in Texas.....

I dont think it's the government. It just seems like a lot of people maybe lost their jobs and rather not go back to work. I doubt the government is giving out enough money to live on

Why go back to work doing a job for a corporation that at best is indifferent to your plight(s) and at worst actively hates you and does everything in its power to fuck you over when you could just do side gigs or something enjoyable?

There's a toxic work culture in America that has been in place for the past few decades and the pandemic forcing a ton of people out of work has opened the general populace's eyes that they don't HAVE to work a soul crushing job to make just enough money to have a place to live and own a few paltry luxuries.

Biden must have cut everyone quite a check if they are still living off the benefits that ended forever ago and they aren't worried about running out of money soon.

As a worker in the hospitality industry, the idiots at the top will need to learn that they need to actually pay people living wages before people actually start applying.

Weve had like 6 positions open across a couple different places where I work and have had 0 applications because the pay is basically min wage with benefits and most are 9 month positions. Wow, no one wants to work that? Shocker. Not saying they deserve a huge raise or whatever, but its a joke if they think anyone will take it, as the market has shown.

I actually ordered IHOP for breakfast today, since they have a location in the parking lot of the retail store I work at.

The prices vary wildly for the amount of food. Like mentioned above, some things are like $10 but you barely get anything, like the 2 egg breakfast. The Omelettes are pretty big and full of meat for slightly more money. The steak tips and eggs are genuinely delicious, but like $14.

I ordered the strawberry crepes for $9. Lets just say, for a to-go order, the presentation is horrendous and I'm not ordering it again. You get raw crepes with a bag full of prepackaged, ice cold strawberries. Not that great.
