Master Chief is cool and Cortana's quippiness with him is amusing at times, and I like the Flood/Covenant dynamic.

Ultimately the main purpose is to have an excuse to keep having to mow through legions of aliens, and it does what it needs to in that regard, but it's not exactly a game I play for the story either, so I can only rate it so high despite thinking it does what it sets out to do very well.

I like 2's story more but 1 has great world building and gave us one of the most iconic characters in video games.

I think the cinematography and score really elevate what could be a very forgettable story. There's just the right amount of iconic imagery with the Chief and the Halo ring. I think the Covenant are designed well, there's a goofy charm to allies and enemies, the Flood is a fairly standard but fun twist on the main conflict.

7.5/10, there's a lot of fun worldbuilding and the plot foundation is solid. The UNSC stuff is the weakest/most cliche part and there's not that much depth all round (at least in the original version which is what I'm counting here), but it's a really fun ride from start to finish with some cool twists peppered in. Cortana, the Covenant, the Flood, and 343 are all used well.

I can't rate since I haven't played the game (have watched a few LPs but that's besides the point), but I imagine most of the scoring is going to center around the plot twist.

Infinite was terrible. There is a definitive loss in quality thanks to all the woke hires, and I don't mean the character models. Parts of the game legitimately are nonfunctional.

8.5 for the original.

For one thing, it literally came out yesterday so lol at the idea youve beaten it already.
