there were a lot of plot threads that they introduced that went nowhere, and other plots that didnt really get explored enough to make any sense

it was still entertaining but too messy

My only issue with season 2 was Nates heel turn seemed to come out of nowhere. Like wtf did Ted even do to make him so mad?

Hopefully we get more details in season 3

Its not nearly as good, but thats not to say it isnt as enjoyable. Season two lost a lot of its warm hearted charm

I never understand that, it made perfect sense to me what happened. He seemed like the type that would be like that, not sure what everyones issue is with that happening.

My only real complaint is that season 1 felt a lot more self-contained than season 2, where season 2 felt like it was building up a lot of plot lines that will only be resolved next season. Not that season 1 didnt leave anything unresolved, but had the show been cancelled after the finale, it still would have felt on the whole like a completed story. Season 2 suffers from being the middle child, so to speak. Granted, thats something you tend to see on a lot of shows, because usually Season 2 is where they start to get ambitious about the show continuing and try to construct a larger narrative arc, but its still a complaint I have.

Correct me if Im wrong, but didnt Nate go from being an equipment manager to assistant coach in season with me, now from an assistant coach to a rival head coach is season 2? All in the span of less than 2 playing seasons. Yeah thats not good writing.

Hated the Beard focused episode and Nates shitty justification for his actions, other than that it was good.

It makes sense in context - he was hired by Rupert, who specifically wants to humiliate his ex wife and Ted. Having a manager who knows how Ted thinks and coaches gives him an advantage in this effort. Rupert doesnt actually care if West Ham does well or not, he just wants to be a prick towards Ted and Rebecca.

The Christmas singing episode, was pure cringe. The other episodes were decent.

The Coach Beard episode was some wild shit.

Apparently Apple told them to make 2 extra episodes which is where you got that one and the Christmas one.

My only gripe about Season 2 was that it was written already knowing there will be a Season 3, whereas Season 1 was written in a "This may be all we get" sense.

Once shows know the next season is a guarantee, that where throwaway episodes start happening.

Like the Beard-centric episode.
