In normal places they probably do.

In the US we say "oh I need to save room for dessert" and then eats a second and third helping before moving on to dessert.

As a fatass myself, I'd rather eat more of the main meal than the dessert. Guess some people just really like their sweets.

If we're talking eating out at a restaurant, I usually get an appetizer and a main meal which is more than enough to eat. I'm assuming the people who eats desserts just eat less of their main to eat sweets after. But I rather eat more of the main meal than eat desserts.

When I eat dessert, I like to stuff my face before hand so it feels like I'm about to burst after dessert.

I don't eat it very often.

I've been out to eat with several people in my life either as friends, coworkers, family, or dates. I don't think I've ever since someone order dessert after the meal. In fact, I don't think I've even been asked in years. I recall frequently declining all the time at different restaurants in different cities/states, but now I feel like they don't even ask anymore.

Whenever I'm asked for dessert I do that White people thing where I pat my belly and say "Oh I couldn't possibly!"

I did that as a kid when I went to buffets with my parents. I'd have one tiny plate of food then be like "ok I'm done. Time for dessert." Then have several helpings.

I can't care less about dessert as an adult though.
