Stephen Hawking seemed fine, and he looked pretty antiquated in his use of technology. Which is quite surprising. You can do a lot to communicate with technology, but he was staunch in his old ways. Not denying that being non verbal is horrible. But 50 million would set you up for life pretty happily along with a team that can set up a communications system tailored to you. The only reason why Stephen Hawking wasn't able to talk faster was because he had to do most of it just by using his cheek. A person capable of using their hands, eyes, EVEN mouthing the words (not making any sounds) could conceivably be even faster and appear to have a normal life. Seriously read that article and tell me the possibilities didn't seem like he could basically talk at a normal speed if he had more capability?
