Or is it just a graphics and encounter update?

I haven't followed the games at all. I can rent it through gamefly, but is it worth it? I can't even remember D/P much

i think it's pretty much the same encounters as the old game. just updated movesets.

they made it super easy and you can't turn off exp share and it's for the whole team. so your whole team is gonna be overleveled.

honestly renting it would be better than buying it. i have no interest in buying it from everything i heard. if i could borrow it from a friend i would to play it tho.

Sounds like Let's Go I guess? I think I used a single type team of four in that to handicap myself and actually enjoyed it a lot

They improved Nintendo's Bank accounts. That's mostly it.

What about rate of shiny encounters? Sword and shield had awful rates.

didn't play that but it doesn't seem to be on that level. but just still super easy. the elite 4 is actually hard tho. cynthia is a beast. but if you're overleveled she'll still be easy. i just watched some poketubers do a soul link(co-op nuzlocke) and lose in the elite 4 a few times.

i'm not sure how they did HMs. do you still just have abilities or did they bring them back? i think i remember having to pretty much keep 2 HM slaves on me all the time in the original games.

Access pc from anywhere is nice
I was wondering if they brought this back or left it out to "preserve" the feel. Glad they brought it back.

Hate for it pre-release was overblown. Game is fun and faithful despite the shitty chibi overworld style (which you'll get used to)

I'm in the camp where this is a solid negative.

No it wasn't lol

Compared to the other remakes this game doesn't add/change enough to make it worth buying. If you liked it the first time, you'll like it again, but it's not fresh.

I don't understand Pokemon remakes
The previous ones updated the old games to be in line with the generations that they were released in.

FRLG looked like Ruby/Sapphire, and also had the benefit of providing access to most of the Kanto Pokemon unobtainable in Ruby/Sapphire.

HGSS looked like Diamond/Pearl, and massively improved on the original Gen 2 games by adding a slew of new content and reimplementing the Kanto areas that were either gutted or outright removed in the original Gen 2 games, overall making HGSS the definitive Pokemon remakes.

ORAS looked like X/Y, and while they didn't do anywhere near the lengths that HGSS did in improving the original games or even implementing Emerald content, it at least added new Mega Evolutions to the game, and provided Hoopa's new form.

BDSP doesn't do any of that. It literally just looks and plays like the original games did, just with a 3D coat of paint over them. Hell, they don't even implement the expanded Platinum Pokedex, leaving a lot of specialty teams wanting at least during the initial playthrough.

It made it incredibly easy to clone stuff because the games are a glitchy mess.
