The problem with naming stories by the name of the main character is that it feels like it makes it all about them.

"Do you know who Naruto is?"

"No where is he from?"

" From Naruto. "

The world isn't all about them and sometimes its better without them. Reasons why?

Fucking prophecies and stupid shit like that.

Harry Potter is a whiny shit. The world is cool and could be quite grim dark if you think about it.

The books are great and one of the best pieces of children's literature ever imo

The movies are meh to bad

The world itself is a wonderful and cool setting tho. I've found a few fanfic writers who do a spectacular job gleshing it out

Having recently read through the series for the first time, I found myself enjoying the world to a certain degree but wishing the author had had someone to help her with the worldbuilding and the general rules of how things work. Harry himself is okay as a character, but his importance to every aspect of the story is kind of annoying.

Harry is a pretty neutral character for me. At the very least, he wasnt unbearable as an MC.

Exactly this. Everything feels like it relates to him in some way/was made for him/was done by him.

Harry is a very basic hero protagonist. Easy to put yourself in his shoes, power fantasy, etc.

It isn't subtle or nuanced, but the dude is fighting magic Hitler by the time he is like, 14 years old. It is also written for the 10-16 year old range where you shouldn't expect a lot of high concepts.
