It's a prequel to Mask of Deception starring Oshtor.

Also announced that Mask of Truth will get an anime in July.

Honestly I'm amazed we're getting a Mask of Truth anime. I thought the Mask of Deception anime was received horribly. Of course, that also means I'm not really that excited for the MoT anime, but still.

Not sure what to make about about an Oshtor prequel from a story standpoint but I guess I'm cautiously optimistic.

between zan 2, the mobile game, and the dokapon crossover, they've been skipping localising a few things lately. those all generally make sense, granted, but utaware remake was also kind of lucky to get one at all so i hope this doesn't go ignored as well

The Mask of Deception anime was received very poorly. I watched it but forget the exact reasons why. I think they ended up cutting out a lot of the fighting for bad SoL scenes. They also rearranged some plot points so they don't make sense. Like an strong ally is nearby during the events at the end of the anime but does nothing to help because they aren't actually supposed to be in town.

At least as far back as Oct 2019. COVID would hit a few months afterwards but I'm not sure that fully explains why it got delayed all the way to July 2022.

Hell yeah, I'm definitely up for more Uta and a prequel is definitely the way to go. Was kind of shocked to see free roaming, though the lack of any combat scenes in the trailer leaves me wondering exactly what kind of game this is. Will be excited to find out, and I can only hope it's localized reasonably quickly.
