But what did he do?

He's basically the best smash player ever but he retired from competition and started making content. Still plays against competitive players often and tends to floor them all. So because of this he's pretty mythical in the smash bros world.

What actually happened vs what was said to have happened is now a bit hazy, but basically he got #metood over some underage girls he was sexting and admitted to it. Then lost his sponsorships and everything and went silent for a year. A few days ago he said it was all just false and that his confession was a suicide note. It's all a bit weird.

Don't want to be petty but he was only the best Smash 4 player and also started to drop as Diddy Kong was gradually nerfed over the course of the game's life. He could never really cut it in Melee

No one prominent in the community has supported anything from ZeRo, and he is still banned from all tournaments. Not sure what else you want from the smash community.
