Im betting that when enough human beings are stacked on top of each other, like some critical number, were gonna snap.

"supposed"

That's a loaded word. Who decided what we were "supposed to do?" Nature and evolution doesn't give a fuck one way or another. Humans will either adapt to the new situation or they won't. Same as it ever was.

You mean like a large prison? >.>

Society seems to adjust to this in big cities, although you could probably argue that a lot of the people there did snap already.

Actually I think they should. Apartments should be the main way of living. Humans occupying a whole ass house is what's wrong with society.

If animals using materials around them to build stuff is considered natural, it's no different for humans. Cities and Internet are no different than a beaver damming a river, or spiders overtaking an entire forest with a city of webs. A queen ant or bee is no different from elected government officials.

Theres enough land on Earth for every individual to have 17 acres of land to themselves.

The principle issue with suburban areas isnt the houses, but that certain aspects of suburban living are not environmentally sustainable. Over-reliance on cars, little to no comprehensive public transport, lawns that waste a lot of resources and ruin the soil (among other things) and so on.

Those are all things that can be solved without having to force people into high-density living spaces.

no, i totally agree. i think there's some sort of weird conceit to thinking that we exist outside of or in spite of nature. we are using the resources we have, just like everything else is.
