not sure. i had a friend (who plays with mods on xbox, but i play on pc) say that if you boot up SSE it will force-enable all CC content which can mess up your game based on if you have incompatible mods.

not sure if that happens on PC, especially if you launch through SKSE, but i'd be cautious.

I might get this for my roommate for early Christmas. He has never played a Elder Scrolls game but wants to and is a console peasant so he doesn't have to worry about mods.

There's technically no Anniversary Update on the PC. If you have Skyrim SE (which you automatically have if you bought the original release + its DLC), there's a patch with very minor engine fixes and some additional content like survival mode and fishing.

The update breaks mods as far as I know, and simply adds a "please buy mods" message in the main menu.

Okay, I'll just hold off. I've actually been playing Skyrim this past week or so, and I don't want to lose my save right now. When I get the itch again next year or something I'll check this out. By then I'm sure all the mods I like will be compatible

How easy is it to mod Morrowind now? I always forget what I need. It's a mod loader, right? You just add to it and it sorts it for you? I've always been intimidated to load my own mods. My Fallout 2 on Steam won't even load anymore because I tried to manually load a mod a few years ago and fucked it up. No idea how to fix it.
