For fuck's sake, you can't have a two day sale on a Wednesday and Thursday two weeks before Thanksgiving and call it "Black Friday," that's not how time works

I don't know, but I just signed up to work Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday, of Thanks Giving week.
Probably the most hellish days possible. I'm up for it though. Hopefully, they have some tastings going on.

I remember when black Friday used to be 6 am Friday.

Then it became 12 am Friday.

Then it became 8 pm Thursday.

Then it turned into Black Friday Week.

These companies contribute nothing and exploit temporary workers desperate for money subjecting them to the worst possible retail conditions and then removing them with zero benefits or severance once the new year rolls around.

i stopped doing gifts altogether many years ago and the holiday season is so much more enjoyable. now it's about enjoying family and friends, good food and not working. no more stress or bullshit about figuring out what to get or what i want and no more shopping.

I actually just buy my gifts months in advance. I literally stash shit in the summer in my house where it waits for Christmas wrapping paper to go on sale.

The worst thing about this is that there's nothing stopping corporations like Walmart from forcing their workers to work Thanksgiving. Back when I worked there they told us we weren't allowed to request off Thanksgiving and if we didn't show up to a scheduled shift that day, we would get a absent infraction that was worth more like missing 3 days in a row. Should have never let Black Friday be the same day as Thanksgiving when people want to just be with their families.

I do the same, I love giving and receiving gifts. If it's stressing you out, then you are doing it wrong. I typically get one large and one small gift for my immediate family members and I just buy something cool when I see it. By the time December comes around, I'm mostly done with shopping.
