I'd honestly be thrilled, I love IV since it was my first GTA and there's a lot of nostalgia there.

I still play through it once every couple years and love it just the same

The only people that think this are people that stopped playing at the end of the car ride in the beginning. I'm 100% sure 4 was your first GTA so it's not like your opinion matters anyways.

GTA bore was a huge step down from GTA SA, no customization for guns or cars, no way to improve your character, all city location, and no sense of victory after you finished the story.

Graphics were nice, driving was eh, and physics were interesting.

I have fond memories of IV so I wouldn't mind at all. I liked the DLC too.

I actually liked exploring more in 4 than I did in 5.

5s map was obviously bigger and had more diverse locations, but exploring the city in 5 was boring.

I Iiked GTAIV a lot. But Im good. Rockstar games hold up pretty good. Id argue GTAIV holds up better than RDR. And yes, I played through RDR recently. It could also be due to RDR making a much bigger jump to RDR2 than IV to V. All the Rockstar offline worlds feel dead in comparison to RDR2, including V

4 was easily the best GTA. Remaster it and give us an updated economy where we can actually purchase properties and stuff like in Vice City/GTA 5, and a car customization and website to purchase vehicles and I would buy the shit out of it.

Niko had more charm than the 3 characters of GTAV combined tbh. The 2 that weren't Franklin were literally anti-charm characters.

Definitely agree there.

GTA4 is good imo, and the DLC is great. One of its biggest faults is that WAY TOO MUCH characterization is in the shitty side stuff with friends. Some of the impact of the ending hinged on the player engaging with that bull shit.

AC3 did something similar with the homestead and some of the recruitment missions. Half of that game's story is in the monotonous side content.

They should just make GTA 7, and claim its so big they had to skip GTA 6.

It wouldn't necessarily be "instead of". For example this upcoming GTA Trilogy remaster has been made by a completely different studio (Rockstar Dundee) to the main Edinburgh one. I don't think any GTAIV Remaster would have taken that much time away from a GTAVI. At least not enough for me to care about.

I feel like there was definitely plans for spending money that got scrapped. IIRC you could go onto a car dealership website and look at cars that actually had prices listed but you couldn't do anything else. I don't think there was any real estate stuff though.

Nah, 5 is fun. So much heart and soul put into a sprawling map just made for shenanigans. Tons to do, with a massive assortment of vehicles of every stripe.

4 has bowling, I guess.
