It literally does not matter how much their stock is worth. Unless they have a profitable business model they will shutter. There will be a mass sell-off around that time.

It matters a little that they can sell off additional equity for way more than they'd otherwise be able to. But that will only prolong them temporarily

The bottom line is that meme stock BS is dangerously close to insider trading and the first guy who manipulates the buying en masse to make individual profits at their expense will cause the whole scheme to collapse and in comes the flood of lawsuits.

The only reason Gamestop isn't dead is because some 4chaners decided to sick it to some Wall Street big shots. (Not that I mind that)

The problem is that a stock's value doesn't really improve a company's long-term prospects, especially if that company's board is just waiting for the company to collapse so they can profit off the liquidation.

Ahh. Idk. A bunch of people talking about, joking, and sharing public information about a stock is kind of the opposite of insider trading. Can an insider manipulate the hive? Sure. But that risk exists in a lot of other mediums and I dont really think the meme crowd is culpable.

I think the stock could go back to the 300 or 400s briefly but will never moon the way some people think it will. There is just no reason for the HFs to buy shares when they get that expensive. They are better off facing fines or not covering and closing shop.

Unless GameStop is using the increased cashflow from these equity transactions to actually make the changes needed to become profitable the its meme stock salvation is more of a stay of execution. It's current business model is rapidly becoming unsustainable.

Don't they have some deal with Xbox where they get a cut of digital revenue for every console they sell? Stuff like that is smart.

Hot Topic and FYE, I guess, but they're clothes and music stores respectively. But for Gamestop, it depends on how you define "successful". Stuff like Funko Pops and graphic tees are keeping Gamestop on life support the same way COPS and Cheaters reruns did for G4 (and probably the aforementioned stores as well)
