I think his mandates will hurt.

A) Though there are less Democrats who do not want to take the vaccine than Republicans, I don't picture those Democrats who don't want the vaccine voting for a Dem again who supports mandates. I think that really would leave a bad taste in their mouths. Biden originally said he wouldn't do mandates, which is why those said Dems probably voted for him.

B) There are definitely several Dems against vaccine mandates, too. And it creates extra work for businesses to now have to have the responsibility of monitoring whether or not people received the vaccine. They may not like the direction the party is going any longer.

C) ~30% of the population isn't fully vaccinated. I don't see anyone who is not vaccinated right now (moderate, dem or repub) ever deciding to vote in the future for someone who wants to make it a requirement.
