At least you can move on knowing theres nothing there. Tbh its probably even worse breaking up thinking there could have still been a future. Move on and better yourself. Its easier said than done I know.

But...I don't want to move on. I invited a girl to a nightclub, she said yes, I bought her ticket, and she canceled on me les than 1 hour before with a fake story about how her friend's dad died. That's the kind of stuff that happens when I attempt to move on.

Then stop relying on other people, it makes you weak. Forget about girls for now and work on yourself. This is key advice. Work on yourself. Make yourself a better person. Exercise, take up new hobbies, become a more interesting to everyone around you. And this is not necessarily for them, but for you.

Again, theres no shame in being a little selfish. Forget her and other girls, and make yourself the number 1 priority right now.

Those first few weeks or even months after a breakup are hard, I know. But you'll be out of it soon if you try.

Edit: I know this because I've done the same thing before. And I usually falter sometimes along the way then I got to remind myself that I need to be someone worth knowing/loving in order to find someone else who loves me. Even though I have a gf now I shouldn't stop working on myself.

I do exercise, I own a home, I have a Tesla Model 3 on the way, and it all feels pointless. I suppose the only area I really could improve in is reading more.
