This leads to a disparity between the sexes where the ratio favors men with exceptional merits within said institution and DEINCENTIVIZES them to bother settling down in an exclusive relationship. Why would such a guy in his successful prime commit to one partner when there's dozens of other thirsty women not only banging on his door for their shot, but also eager to destroy any "girlfriend" whos already in the way? It's a type of "crabs in a bucket" scenario where the man is left in a prime position to exploit it because the crabs are eager to participate as fodder despite evidence of exploitation sitting right in front of them. Men of exceptional status and privileges have the least amount of incentive to "change" for love. They're showered daily with multiple reasons to stay the same. As far as eligible bachelors, they're the worst bracket to bet on when looking for romance leading to commitment.
