Honestly, the first hundred comics still have some jokes that make me laugh. I started reading in high school, can't remember the exact comic but it was before Marten and Dora split up.

I find that every time I go back to the earlier comics I pick up on more and more music references. This time I got a Conor Oberst/Bright Eyes reference. I think there's a Mountain Goats reference I would have got at any point post-2013. There's at least one more that slapped my eyebrows clean off when I unearthed it years later.

Like it's silly, but I love the two comics that consist of Pintsize eating cake mix.

I find myself empathizing with Faye more than Marten, what with him making sex puns and the comic being a will-they-won't-they strip at this point in time. There's a comic where the punchline is Pintsize describing Faye's tits to Marten, and a solid handful of them have ended with Faye side-eyeing Marten after he makes a sexual innuendo.

I still like QC, but he should probably cut down on the characters. There are a lot of strips where I genuinely have no idea who the hell the person is.

Yeah, and how each of the robot personalities have been getting new bodies. Momo was the first and that was fine, but then we got May, Winslow, and finally Pintsize - I kinda wanted him to remain the only anthroPC in the cast, though I do like the proximity to trans anxiety that his storyline has.

And now two of the cast members are vtubers, so that's an extra two character designs to remember, and the Willow trio, and Renee, Elliot and Brun who periodically take over the whole plot - I can live with Marten being in the comic less, he's happy and "retired" in a sense, but I'd like to see more of Hanners and Marigold tbh

Peak QC was 2013 QC. Emily and Claire were established as cast regulars, Marten's dad got married and he took Claire as his +1 as a friend and it was cute as fuck, Marigold was there

The sluggy freelance site confuses me now and I'm not even sure I can read the comics from the beginning anymore or if I'm expected to buy the physical books if I want to reread it

Something positive is probably the welcoming I relate to most as I was around the casts age when I started reading it and unlike other webcomics that seem to be stuck in a permanent time stasis where not much time ever seems to pass something positive covers a year of the Characters lives every year so it really feels like the Characters are growing and moving forward in life

Sluggy freelance also moves in real time but I don't feel the same growth
The Characters don't visibly seem to she age and they don't really move forward in life in general but always just move forward to the next adventure
