Ever been to a roller skating rink? Or still go? I remember when I was young, we use to go often enough... Even though all you did was skate around a big circle, it was fun... I'm watching a show where they go to one, which is why I thought of this. Did any or you ever go to one, though? Or still go?

I used to when I was growing up and it was fun but I always loved ice skating more and did that when I was growing up also.

When I was younger.
Then it became abandoned and I went to shoot an indie/college project movie there and learned it was most definitely haunted.

Abandoned roller skating rink is creepy btw.

I used to go when I was younger. The rink near me is still around, but it's a much longer trip to the floor these days.

When I got older, we went ice skating... Partly because it was like right around the corner...

Went on a date with this girl. It was our first date, and one of the first dates I'd ever been on. I had met her at this rink a couple weeks prior and got her number. We met up again, but throughout the whole date I spoke with an Australian accent. Mind you, when we met prior I spoke normally.

And this was early tweens Farq, here. I could maybe muster a terrible Australian accent now... but back then? This was a bastardized Crocodile Dundee stereotype mashed through a South Coast Massachusetts filter. "G'day! What's a good lookin' Sheila like you doin' in a losah town like this?"

And I didn't relent. I made up this fucking bizarre story about my dad being Australian and how I'd only been in the States a few years and blah blah it was super weird and awful and I have no fucking clue why I did it but thankfully she didn't go to the same school as me so the story pretty much died in the roller rink along with any possibility of fostering any sort of romance with this young lady lol

We had a few school trips to one a few suburbs over, there was also a near by ice rink

One of the first dates with a GF I had was to a skating rink.. kinda.. we walked 20 minutes from the nearest train station only to discover it had closed down :P

Yeah. I pretty much only went as a kid, as well... I remember my mom taking me to the rink often. She use to love to go, too... I even had quite a few birthday parties there, as well... It was a popular birthday spot, IIRC...

A little kid crashed into the dude behind me and when he fell he kicked me in the calves with his skates. That made me go down faster than just falling and I landed on his sideways skate on the floor. I broke the transverse process of my T12-L3 vertebrae

Dunno, there was at least 5 years in between the last time I was there when it was open and when we found out it was closed
