He is one of the highest CEO's in the country and now he will be at the lowest where 62,500 is the lowest minimum wage by California law. The pay cut includes bonuses and equity for an unspecified duration as an apology to the people in the lawsuit for how he handled the bro culture His annual salary was about 1.5 million with the other 152.5 million coming from bonuses and other incentives placing him 6th highest paid CEO in 2021. I remember when CEOs would take an annual pay of 1 dollar per year because the money made on investments was taxed much much much lower so they made their money from the company's stock they held which usually ran into the millions. So lets say a CEO owns 2M shares of his company's stock and that stock is at say $300 per share, you don't need to be a math wizard to figure out that the CEO is doing well. Bezos was unloading 1 billion shares of Amazon stock annually to finance his space program.
