Being able to stomach criticism is a big step in improving your art. It can be annoying when people lie to you to spare your feelings though

so down bad i wrote a poem about having an autistic gf

Styrofoam

Your gravity reaches down
through screeching car wheels on brightly lit roadways
weaving between rough sheets and tight clothes and unwanted hairs
goes under the scar tissue and pulls me out
sometimes
up into a place where all of that fades away
where i can see myself clearly in your reflection
not an object finally but a soul like anyone else
and i can sometimes do the same for you
we can find a place in the middle outside of our two bodies

I can't think straight most of the time. I can't pull myself out of hell with a list of life-hacks. But I can clean for you, and cook for you. I can take care of you. I can model my self-love (error: referent not found) by loving you. and sometimes i can love the part of you that loves me

It might not ever get better. It might get worse every day of our lives
but it almost feels worth it when you're around

I need to look into what is the best way to start HRT. I assume you have to see a specific type of doctor or specialist idk. Hopefully insurance will help

the only place Ive found so far is trans specific and sex positive subs on Reddit

and the only memes sub thats actually funny and isnt turning into a transphobic and homophobic shithole is r/196

im sure its not the only one but most of them are just becoming circle jerks of hateful stereotypes and harmful derisions toward the vulnerable

you're in the US, right? talk to a therapist about it, then look for a gender clinic (e.g. a planned parenthood).
