I heard on the broadcast the ball was already estimated to be worth at least $500,000. Guy fucked up.

No way I would've kept it. Sure, it might be valuable, but people would know who you were and you'd become notorious as the guy who "stole" the ball. No way would I want to attract that much negative attention.

Well, we've seen that happen with people who choose to keep historic home run balls. I feel like if you can weather the early storm of negative attention, you'll be fine in the long run because nobody remembers who those people are now.

In my mind I say I'd keep it and sell it. Maybe to Brady himself, because he can damn sure afford it

In reality I probably would've given it back when asked to avoid confrontation

Keep in mind this is Brady's ball. You'd be getting just as much applause!

I'd give it to Goodell so it could be tested by the proper authorities and we could finally bring him to justice.

I'd give it back. The security at pro level sporting events tends to look unfavorably on people who walk off with things they weren't meant to have.

Being someone who loathes Tom Brady, I'd have started by using it as leverage. "What am I gonna get for this? Because I could make $100K selling this easy."

That said, Brady, Evans, and the Bucs aren't being paltry in exchange. What he's getting:
-Two signed Tom Brady jerseys (probably home and away), from Brady
-A signed Mike Evans jersey and his game-worn cleats (from Evans, who fucked up by giving the ball away)
-An official helmet (unclear if this is from Evans or Brady)
-Season tickets for the rest of this season and all of next season, with the ability to continue them forward (from the team)
-A $1,000 gift card to the Bucs team store (also from the team)

The one thing that's missing is "Brady's 601st TD ball" from the second quarter. Which would still be worth something.

At the very least, there is some good news that came out from all of this: The Bears still suck.

Would have given it back for free. It's an incredible accomplishment for him and I did nothing to earn the ball

Seriously. The negotiations begin with season tickets for life for that kind of milestone.

This is giving way too much credit. They really don't.
