I'm definitely in love with it. But I'd put quiplash above it, and

ah crap it's number 2, I already voted 3 though

My friends absolutely hated it.

I thought it was interesting at the least.

I played with two different groups of friends. Most of the first group didn't care for it that much, but the second group hated it.

I guess it doesn't help that both games were pretty much a blowout. The first time the torches going into the final round were 4-1. The second time it was like 3-0. Also, some people didn't like that each team could overhear what the other team was discussing and wanted to split up the discussion so each team's thoughts were private. That seemed like too much work to do on a video call to me, and didn't seem to be point of the game, but I dunno.

What exactly makes the game so great in that case?

It's not even my favorite game in the pack, though it is good.

we just all discussed in the same call. I mean I guess I can appreciate keeping it like true family feud where the other teams thoughts are private but I think its pretty fun just openly discussing it in front of the other team. jackbox games arent meant to be taken that seriously imo (except push the button)

job job is way too dependent on the players for me to rank it highly. it can be good and it can also be so bad

and drawful animate is a new low for drawing games, but i barely want to draw once so drawing twice is a nightmare

And yeah, there's a lot of strategy you can have in your discussions. If you're going for top 3, you can throw out some vague, like "I think it's probably gonna be this or this".

But then as the list dwindles, and say you've found 1st, 2nd, 4th, and 5th, now the discussion can get really specific, since if you nail the 3rd one on this guess, the other team isn't gonna have another shot at it, so it doesn't matter what they know anymore: "I put this one 1st, so I think it's gotta be that. Did any of you put it on your list?"

Weapons Drawn has such a great aesthetic but it seems like it's really overfull of things. You've got picking and guessing accomplices, finding letters in drawings but you don't know the letter or style, plus extra factors like looking at people's names and revealed drawings, and it's all really lengthy. It needed to be scaled back a lot, it's such a mess. A shame.

Job Job is likely gonna end up my favorite Jackbox game of all-time. The Board 8 crew on Discord already has it down pat, and I will laugh at pretty much every single answer every game.

Then we had this, which probably made me laugh the hardest at anything I ever have in my entire life.

Job Job is easily the best game in the pack, hands down.

I really like Weapons Drawn. Lots of good fun, especially when people are clever about hiding their letters and you get these big fun surprises during the reveal.

Drawful Animate is fun, although it really adds nothing more to the game that the first one did. The animations can be really funny though.

The Wheel game is pretty bad. I don't mind the randomness (although others in my friend groups really didn't like it) but it's also just too long. Too much time is spent on the wheel portion. In one game I had enough points to win at the end of the second round. I spun the Winner Wheel and lost, so we went through one more round of trivia. After that ended I immediately got another chance to spin to win and won the game, meaning the previous six or so minutes changed absolutely nothing. Not great game design...

Job Job > Poll Mine >>> Drawful Animate >>> Wheel of Enormous Proportions > Weapons Drawn

Job Job is possibly my new favorite Jackbox game. It combines creativity and humor in a way that, so far every time I've played it, has absolutely slayed the room, while still being surprisingly chill and easy to play, compared to stuff like Tee K.O. or even Quiplash which are more creatively tiring. My only complaint is that it's sort of hard to play on phone because the word list can get too long and I'd actually like more time to compose answers even WITH extended timers on - but minor complaints. This is an almost perfectly designed experience, for me.

Poll Mine is great but I can see how it would require a good group for it. B8 is perfect for this - we're really good about discussing things and taking the concept of the game seriously for obvious reasons, which makes the game exciting. I'm a little skeptical about the rules of the game working well, but it's not that big a deal as far as I'm concerned. This is like a more well-groomed version of Guesspionage, a game that I like but that doesn't quite work as well as I'd like.

Drawful Animate is good, but I find that the prompts have jumped the shark a little bit. Drawful and Drawful 2 have mostly good prompts, but this game has had dud prompts because it seems like every single one is Jackbox trying too hard to be overly quirky and weird. This has kinda soured Drawful Animate for me, but the bones of the game are still good.

Wheel of Enormous Proportions has good trivia questions (usually) stitched to a really terrible wheel game that I couldn't care less about. It's just rife with design problems, as has been pointed out. I actually think the trivia portion is a fair bit better than TMP, but TMP has a much more satisfying game structure with a fantastic concluding round. Wheel is not bad to play, but it's frustrating to take seriously as a game, even setting ASIDE the fact that the winner is random - that's barely even the problem!

Weapons Drawn is 'overstuffed', yes. There's an interesting concept here but it doesn't quite 'click' into place right. There's a lot of confusion in the game, for me, over whether or not it makes any sense at all to even discuss answers with other players - if you have a good clue about who did it, you aren't incentivized to say anything, but the game is just way more fun when you talk it out with the group. But then there's like, a not-fully-realized social deception element, and the game goes on for 45 minutes, and it just... sort of falls apart, really. I'm kind of sad about this one - I think the core element of hiding a letter in your drawing and people having to figure out who it belongs to is interesting, and I think that the game would have really been served by stripping everything down to this core element and workshopping that more.
