can possibly imagine should the latter strike him down? Is his meaning that he will be able to assist his newest apprentice better in death than in life?

I must have these answers.

serious question

I am not versed in Star Wars lore. Is your meaning that the question has been answered during the very same movie it was uttered, when Luke allowed the Force to guide him in blowing up the Death Star?

When a Jedi dies they become one with the force

In Star Wars the force is the driving force behind everything, its basically god

I think Ben means that he could do more to help Luke as a Force ghost. Yeah, like the Death Star thing. He could communicate with Luke and help him focus. He probably also helped Luke hit the exhaust port with a little Force nudge.

I think because killing him would put a chip on Luke's shoulder that he wouldn't have gotten any other way

That's not how it works, Qui-Gon found that out and taught it to Yoda and Obi-Wan (who taught it to Anakin) most jedi just die

Ghosts in Star Wars can do anything. He could just have killed Vader right there if he felt like it but...I don't know, effort?

Thanks sequels for ruining just about everything.

He didn't say stronger than Vader iirc, just "more powerful than you could possibly imagine." And technically he became one with the Force, although that didn't help much.

Anything that dies becomes one with the force. Except maybe sith because they've become so selfish and don't want to lose their identity.

That said idk if GL had established that much in his head when ANH was made. It was probably just a cool line.

in the setting it's just referring to being a force ghost

but the message to the viewer is basically making an analogy to being a christian martyr. "more powerful" is metaphorical, referring to entering the kingdom of god, etc.etc.

He took out a huge life insurance policy before leaving Tatooine, one that specifically paid out in the event of a Vader-related death. It basically funded all of those Bothans and ships the rebellion used to to win out in Return of the Jedi.
