Iirc you draw a diagonal line. Idk for sure though.

Huh, I was right

This isn't necessarily calculus. Only thing calculus will tell you in this equation is the natural slope, which is just dy/dx = 3.

However, the original equation is completely the slope equation of y = mx + b where b is the y intercept.
This graph is a straight line with a rise over run of 3 and it crosses the y-axis at positive 4.

If you're doing it by hand

Just input a number for x and calculate the corresponding y placement on graph.

Then play connect the dots.

For 0: y = 3(0) +4 -> y = 4

For 1: y = 3(1) + 4 -> y = 7

For 2: y = 3(2) + 4 -> y = 10.

So on and so forth. Plot a few points then draw the line. In this case the line is straight so its not a big deal. When there are whacky curves and what not it can be helpful to plot points between whole numbers.

post #7 does a pretty good job at explaining it
the equation just states that y will be equal to a given transformation of the value of x in any ordered pair, so just replace the x in "y = 3x +4" with that value in the ordered pair and you'll have the y coordinate
