Currently on like episode 7, gosh they really can make a villain out of this Funai character.

I really hate how Kaiji looks and the general artstyle of this anime, but they are supposed to be trashy gambler so

Season 2 is a letdown so far compared to season 1. Can't believe the manga/source material is still apparently ongoing too?

I stopped watching while he was playing that game where a drill will hit his eardrum if he loses enough bets. Could you tell me what happens at the end of that game? Does Kaiji win?

He won, but had to chop his own ear off to win a round then psychologically won the last round to win a total of 20.1 million yen

Then he gets greedy for revenge/money and challenges the main director honcho and rigs up a game to try to take him out and win 100 million, but loses all his money that he just won (he didn't pay off his debt after) and lost four fingers

Jesus fucking Christ. I didn't think he'd actually lose body parts. So does he just go around with one ear in S2 or does he get surgery?

In addition to the massive 6.5+ million debt he didn't pay off (still compounding interest), he had to take out another loan for debt on the black market for a surgeon for 2 million to fix his ear and fingers (probably doesn't have full function as before either), so in season 2 he's mostly back to status quo appearance wise; at least so far

Jeez that's pretty miserable. That's kinda why I stopped watching the show after a point.

Season 2 is amazing though. Its kinda funny because it begins with Kaiji in a way worse position that before but has a happy ending.

I really wish theyd keep the anime going. I know that the remaining parts are 1 game a piece, but Id put up with that for more Kaiji.

Season 2 gets better close to the end. It's just a lot of dicking around until that point. Watching Kaiji beat other losers is kind of boring. He can hang with the big boys and that's the only place there's any real tension once he's in season 2.

Also, don't watch the spin off show. It's not anything close to the same type of show. It's some dumb comedy/slice of life about the one executive guy.
