So if this is true, then why are employers yelping about not being able to find people who want to work.

Because at the end of the day, contrary to what a certain political party and others have claimed, no one received enough stimulus money and/or unemployment extensions to quit their job permanently.

We have a ton of openings at MSU. They're requesting we volunteer time at the dining halls because there isn't enough staff to feed students.

My job has been understaffed for six months. We've had an opening posted the whole time.

My manager didn't even glance at applications until I handed in my two weeks notice this month.

Being understaffed saves them money in the short term.

So he didnt want to take the low paying job then earn more?

maybe he came off like a troublemaker from the start.

Many people on this very site have been able to live off of the first stimulus payment, and thats not counting the subsequent others.

No it doesn't, then you have to pay everyone OT (and benefits potentially) as opposed to having a lot of people working part time

I mean it's an interesting story, but it's only part of the story. It doesn't show his resume, there are red flags in resumes that make people not give you a second glance. Like having 6 jobs in a year, or you're applying for a position way below your previous experience.

My place was relatively desperate for hires for most of last year and early this year, while most of our calls didn't get responses there were also applications we didn't give a second glance to.
