I was looking through an old yearbook today and it struck me that the logo my school used was exactly the same as the logo for the Philadelphia Eagles. I gather that this isn't exactly uncommon, but it does kind of make me wonder how the schools can do it without getting in trouble with the NFL.

I guess other professional team logos count as well, not just NFL.

Our football helmet rips off the Tampa Bay Bucs ones with a white helmet and blue logo. Even though our buccaneer logo looks way different.

My high school was also the Eagles but we had an artist design an original eagle logo, looked nothing like the Philadelphia one.

Mine was The Colonel.

The colonel was Colonel William Richardson. He was some Revolutionary War guy.

I never looked up what exactly he was into. But I keep thinking it was something bad like slavery or some shit. Maybe one day I'll check it out.

Teenagers when I was in high school would go and write shit on his grave which is located next to a river not far from here.

at first our HS didn't have a mascot, then when we did get one... it was a ripoff of the BK mascot

Elementary School was Washington.

Mostly because it was them or the Cleveland at the time.

Middle and High School it was a Top Hat, Staff and Gloves.

Nope, my high school ripped off a college team logo instead. I can't remember which one off the top of my head because there's like half a dozen colleges that call themselves the Wildcats.

We had a cowboy holding a couple of six shooters, for god knows how long.

While I was there they decided that wasnt appropriate and changed it to something like just a cowboy hat. Tbf no one cared after a year or two, but then again two thirds of the school hadnt been there after two years and no one gave a fuck about anything school related by that point.

No, my city's teams are called the Golden Wave and a wave was our logo. It makes no sense because we aren't nowhere near an ocean nor have any other large body of water in our city and it being the golden wave makes it seem like it's a giant amount of piss. Nothing about our city is golden either. Stupid name.

Our elementary team had to use busted and cracked helmets, uniforms that was years old.

The helmets got a new coat of paint every year.

But you can see where it's chipping off of other layers of paint.
