Was $12 for their Large Club On A Sub (turkey, ham, bacon sub) on white and it was just OK at best. Very, very flavorless and oddly sweet. People give Subway shit about how much sugar is in their bread but this legit had the flavor of unfrosted cake. Bread was good and soft, though. Overall I come away definitely feeling like I should have just had Jimmy John's delivered to my house. I wouldn't have had to go get it, it would have been cheaper, and the quality would have been much better

Jimmy John's doesn't toast subs though all of their sandwhiches are cold.

The bread is freshly baked and fluffy, it doesnt need to be toasted.

Jimmy John's is hot garbage compared to even Subway
Eh I wouldn't go that far but it is bad. Jersey Mikes was passable and sometimes even good. Probably only sub place I would bother with

I'll tell you a surprising one was Publix delis. Their subs were really good for a grocery store. Too bad I think they are only in the south as I haven't seen one in awhile

That's how I describe Subway.

That would be the result of the honey ham, not the bread. That ham is simply loaded with sugar.

I wasn't impressed with Firehouse either. I like the Italian sub at Jimmy Johns, but for my money Jersey Mikes is the best sub among the national chains.

I went to grad school in the Northeast and god damn the mom and pop sub sandwiches there. Only thing I miss about the Northeast.

Jersey mikes is by far the best.

The ham at firehouse is sweet as hell. I like honey ham and I thought the meat it in their club was too sweet.

Apparently they havent changed as I only had one once and it was like 7 years ago.

Their meatball subs are pretty damn good though.

That's probably the next place in town I'll try. Atm though nothing beats Publix deli so far. Price comparable to Subway (or cheaper actually) and way better quality. Downside is having to fight my way thru a packed Publix if I want a sandwich

For sure. Just wasn't in the mood to fight thru the soccer mom crowd during rush hour today.

I may try that sometime. I like a good meatball sub from time to time. Definitely not getting white bread again though

I'd sooner eat the paper wrapper from a Subway sandwich than one of those revolting JJ ones

Counterpoint: Jimmy Johns has the best bacon in all of fast food, full stop.

Yeah, do a wheat meatball.

I never really cared for Jimmy John's myself. Sure they have good bread, but the sandwich is like 95% bread.

Just remembering my Firehouse sub experiences and from 3 different locations, the meat had the "mouth feel" of being cut from frozen. There were legit ice crystals in every bite.

That did it for me.

Yeah, I'm not a fan of the sweetness of Firehouse either. The only thing I legit enjoyed was the meatball sub.

DiBella's is my favorite chain sub place, but idk how many states they actually exist in. NY, MI and OH are the only places I've actually seen them.
