It would have been nice if you checked in, and it would have been nice if she said something. I don't really think either of you did anything wrong on purpose, so I think it's just a matter of her being upset at feeling like you didn't care. Really, it's just a misunderstanding and ideally both sides should say they'll do better going forward. No real apologies needed. It's just a simple mistake people make and I've been on both sides of that issue, forgetting to check in and forgetting to ask how they've been doing.
