Mostly it's about the power and customizability, as well as being somewhat counterculture in a world where most people only ever use the major 3-4 OS' that come with pre built computers.
That's kinda funny, but add some fart noises next time. :)

Notice that no one has asked to explain why a specific joke is funny or not. Just the vague "how can an offensive joke be funny"

But hey, if that's what it takes, please tell me why misgendering Ms. Dorman was funny.

Okay.

Explain how blaming all trans people for injustices that the black community has received isn't problematic.

Where did he blame the trans community for the injustices against black people? He said in the special something along the lines of "I'm really just jealous of how well that movement seems to be going"

I don't recall him saying anything that blames trans people for the social problems of blacks.

Are you talking about the "I knew your father and he was a wonderful woman?" line?

Because it's pretty humorously absurd that someone who identified as woman is the biological father to child? Also felt like tongue in cheek hat tipping tribute to his dead friend, who was also a comedian.

You don't have to find it funny, but the intention behind the joke isn't hateful or negative.

He went on to say they're white and use white privilege. He said this after mentioning a white lady who called the cops on him. And he finished the special saying LGBT people need to stop punching down on his people.

It's not even a matter of things he said and drawing inferences, it's that it was tacitly implied.

Here's why I truly have a problem defending Chappelle on this one, despite being a big fan of his.

Chappelle first spoke to Oprah in 2006 about the pressures and people around him that left him feeling "manipulated" when he quit. Chappelle later offered more details to David Letterman in 2020, saying, It was me dressed in blackface who'd pop up anytime a person felt the pains of racism, which is a tough trick to pull off. It's not a bad sketch, but hearing the wrong laugh, while you're dressed that way, it makes you feel shame." Ultimately, the incident with the skit was like a fatal blow after an exhausting pummelling of creative struggles with those around him.

Famously one of the reasons he stopped doing the Chappelle Show was because of this particular sketch that he's speaking on here. In that moment it became clear to him that there were certain people that were no longer laughing with him, but at him, and by extension, at black people. He's talked about this many times over the years since the show ended.

I've always wished that the show kept going, and as a white dude, it really pissed me off that anybody would laugh at Dave and the rest of the guys on the show instead of with them. At the end of the day though, I completely understood and respected his decision to call it quits. This is obviously not the only reason he ended the show, as he also famously gave the "Baboon and the salt" analogy; but this was the very first reason he ever gave as to why he ended the show.

My point is this: if Dave can be so keenly aware of racism that he was able to determine that white people were no longer laughing with him, but at him, and that his jokes were doing more harm than good at that particular moment to the black community; but he doesn't see how punching down on a marginalized community would do the same thing in this instance, well, that's either being purposefully obtuse, or completely ignorant about the situation.

He's either, at best, horrendously misinformed, or at worst, punching down and having no issues with it because it doesn't effect him. IE: he didn't want people laughing at black people, because he's black; but has no issues with people laughing at trans people, because he's not trans.

So which is it? Is he a hypocrite who has no problems making fun of people, as long as he's making fun of people that don't fit his particular demographic; or is everything fair game and he was full of shit for quitting his show when he did, for the reason he did? Because you really can't have it both ways. If you quit your show because you saw the damage your jokes were apparently doing to your own community, but have no issue joking about another marginalized community, then you're full of shit. And if you're fine with the reason he gave as to why he left his show, but also don't see a problem at making jokes at the expense of trans people, then you are also full of shit, because Chappelle is literally saying "I'm fine with making fun of everyone except for ME!" to the point where he walked away from $60 million dollars.

This man literally cancelled himself because he felt like his jokes were painting black people in a bad light, but trans people are fair game? All I'm asking for is consistency. If he felt like his jokes were punching down on black people and stopped, then why should punching down on an even more marginalized community be OK with him or anyone else? Either marginalized communities are off limits for jokes because jokes have the potential to be damaging to a community, or they aren't. Pick one.
