Those like super pron-y VN eroges are just not my thing tbh. Bro I dunno what kinda sex JP folks are having, but literally nobody, not even in porn, talks that much during sex. Admittedly it's a better sense of passage of time, but goddamn why do I gotta click so many times? I ain't autoing that shit because that'll take forever. But another thing that makes me not wanna auto is that the voice acting in these is really bad. Why do the girls sound like they're riding that crazy spinning shit you see in those amusement parks?

But eroges that are just like regular VNs but with sexual content are pretty sick. I don't think I have to even mention Subarashiki Hibi amongst avid readers. That shit changed my life for a while

It's been out for about two weeks, yeah.

My short review of the game is that it simultaneously has more and less content than its predecessors. Less game over CGs, but more pixel scenes and slightly more variety with dark magical girl versions and untransformed as well. They could always add more in an update, I guess.

Chiffon/Natsuki is easily the cutest heroine of all their games though.

Someone looked into the files and an English version seems planned, if you want to wait. Mistletear got an official translation a while back. I don't think Shine Mirage ever did though, so it's kind of a toss-up.

Edit: Actually, I just checked, and their game page is now translated, so that English version is looking fairly likely.

The grisaia mobile game is all right. The sex scenes are pretty nice. You in fact have sex with every girl, multiple times as you level up thr various versions of them in different outfits and roles. This includes your sister but to paraphrase what they said, it's in VR so it doesn't count as incest, it's not even them making the other get off but the technology. So uh. :l That said, the principal sounds so erotic to begin with I ain't complaining.

I mean I managed to get like enough gems to do 14 out of the 15 pulls needed for a pity character on the first banner. Plus like 50 more as well as the handful of guaranteed 5* pulls. And all 43 of my units are at max level. So it's not like it's terribly bad with giving you the essentials early on. Now I can just save uhhh 45,000 gems for a 5* unit who looks really good. Meaning Michiru because she's my favorite.

A House in the Rift

My interest in it plummeted when they added a not-cute green orc (?) girl. Apparently they also added a not-cute dwarf too, and other people similarly lost interest. The succubus and elf were already top-tier, and the mage girl was cute too, so I don't know why the creator is dropping the ball on these newcomers. It's a shame since this is still one of the better-written /weg/s too. The dialogue is good at being sassy or sexy without sounding cringe, the world-building is good, etc.

Corrupted Kingdoms

I'm not too up-to-date on this, but I think it was taking the "lots of new girls/dream sequences, but it's all disconnected so nothing really matters" approach? I guess it's there if you want a lot of variety, but it has a similar neat world compared to AHitR, so it's a shame if it lost itself in its plot.

MIST

Supposedly nearing completion. I don't hear too much about this otherwise, but I also don't think there's anything too bad to say about it, provided you can still get used to the art and the occasional spelling errors (I forget if English isn't this person's first language).

I know I said no JP, but worth mentioning (if I haven't mentioned it here already, I forget) is that the JP gacha mobage died a few months ago too. Apparently one guy was handling everything and it got too much for them.

As for other Renpy VNs I tried out, there's two groups in particular.

Belgerum

Did a series of turn-based RPG-like VNs with full English voice acting, unusually. The one that I first tried and impressed me the most was Magebuster, which has a startup self-proclaimed genius mage girl summon a demon in bishonen form, hoping to make a contract with him. Depending on decision points (like how inquisitive or rude you are) and how the battle (which is split into multiple phases, changing up the girl's AI actions) turns out, you get different endings.

Caribdis

Completed one VN and working on another.

Once in a Lifetime, I tried out because it was complete. It was... not great. If you like step-sibling/mom incest, you might excuse the silly/bad plot, but I read a few weeks' worth before fast-forwarding and not really caring anymore. I guess I've read worse, but there's a serious tonal problem when the VN simultaneously tries to take itself seriously and also throws in random fourth-wall breaking comedy moments in the middle of it.

Eternum, on the other hand, is basically Ready Player One but porn and if it was actually kinda decent. There's a substantial improvement from OiaL, you don't get into the game right away as it eases you into the "real world" part of the VN first, and most of the characters are pretty good. Though I could do without the stereotypical "rich bully who thinks he's above the rules" guy. There was a "rich bully" in the other VN too, but she was hate-fuckable and her dad ended up being the real threat anyway. Sorta.

Finally ordered the new Quintessential Quintuplets VN special edition. Not the grand deluxe one with a clock or whatever but whatever. Also an idolmaster game so I might have to bother a certain Koopa user to be sure I understand the controls.

Oh, a week ago there was a translation patch for Amagami. Get the psp version since it has performance improvements over the ps2 version.
