Curse of Chucky is my favorite, but they're all enjoyable enough to some extent (except for Seed. Didn't like that one at all.)

Even the remake was pretty good.

Instead of Best Childs Play why not Best Sequel to Childs Play?

Childs Play 88 has the best scenes & execution. It also makes the most sense, and was also a little more psychological, and a little more mature than most of its sequels. That being said, the series as a whole has long surpassed the first film. For all that? It still only has one real classic hit. The first one. This isnt abnormal for a franchise, tbh. Maybe we should stop pitting these movies against their babydaddies.

Theres a few exceptions. Friday the 13th didnt get good until at least movie 3. Alien has a few good movies under its belt. Terminator 2 consistently wins. But Hellraiser, Halloween, Texas Chainsaw Massacre, Predator, The Exorcist, arguably Night of the Living Dead, and even older movies like Dracula.... are all largely these one big booms that ended up surpassing themselves in terms of scope only, never really quite managing to match the impact of the one that started it all.

Godly sequels are exceptionally rare. I feel like it muddles things a lot to keep treading the same ground in these things. On the other hand? Childs Play fans dont really hover around the original that much. Haha!

I interpreted 2 as a rehashing of the first, which is fine. It added cool chick to the cast. But she wasnt far off from the mother. They had a Chucky that capitalized on the strengths of the original, but was safer in terms of mechanical design.... as a result leaving the character much less visually obscene (and thus shocking) using the new techniques. The more youthful girl helps make up for this to a certain extent, but in the end .... its no Ghostbusters II, imo. Childs Play 3 was actually a really good movie lol. If it had its own monster. An evil teddy bear. Anything. It would have rocked. They could have done a sequel about the haunted fairgrounds, and done with childs play what halloween wanted, to explore more magic, monsters, and just other themes.
