I have a wife and 4 kids so I'm pretty much never alone during my off time. I went to a Shari's restaurant by myself for breakfast just the other day so I could kill time before Costco opened becasue it's it's 30+ mile drive from my house. All depends on circumstances.

Theme parks no. But I go to theaters, restaurants and concerts most of the time by myself.

Yes frequently. It is very liberating.

I spent too much time in grad school and after not doing things I wanted to do because most people lost the time -- mostly through marriage and kids. I was always used to doing things with other people so I just stopped doing things for a while. So I missed out on some things then.

In my late 20s, I started forcing myself to concerts and to travel places alone. Now I do it all the time. You just leave yourself open to the experience and you'll have lots of fun little encounters with others. You also are in complete control of the calendar, when and where you go. If you get bored, you can just change plans on the fly. No worries of letting somebody else down.

I would recommend it to anyone. It's still nice to do things with others whenever possible, but I don't lack of interest/available in my peer group stop me from doing something.

I always avoided that in the pat because I felt like a loser. Now in my late 20s, Ive finally started feeling more comfortable at doing things myself. Im currently planning a solo trip to Puerto Rico for example.

No, I like to be alone when I'm alone, being in public would ruin it.

Out of those, Id only ever really go to restaurants. Concerts arent my thing, and I dont enjoy theme parks enough to want to take a trip by myself.

I generally dont go to restaurants by myself cause I have other stuff I could eat, but I might depending on the circumstance.

Do people really have problems with going to restaurants alone? That's pretty much what I always do for lunch

depends on what i'm there for. i only go to theme parks for social interaction, none of the rides or shows interest me so much that i need to go on my own.

but if a restaurant has one of my favorite foods, i wouldn't mind going on my own. if it's a concert for someone i really love and no one else does, i could go alone, and same with a movie.

but generally i only do these things because someone else wants to, or is willing to, go with me.

I eat alone at restaurants all the time. Granted they're like 15 bucks for a meal type restaurants, never high class places.

The only thing I don't feel comfortable on my own is traveling long distance for the sake of traveling.. Unless I'm meeting someone there I guess.

I've been to one concert alone (Judas Priest and Mastodon) and had a hell of a time. Also did comedy shows a handful of times.

Theaters alone seems to be more of a thing in big cities from what I've noticed. It would be weird to do in my small hometown. But where I am now, it's more common.

Restaurants? Sure.

I just went to game 1 of the NLDS by myself, would have been a lot less fun dragging somebody else around.
