It's good. A few subplots feel like they don't really go anywhere, but on the whole I really enjoyed it.

Fucking everyone is gonna be dressed as the guards this Halloween, though.

It's a pretty good show. A little bit overhyped but defiantly worth the watch

The giant plot holes make it far from a perfect show imo

My criticism, they don't spoil any plot points but may alter the way you watch the show, so I'll put them in spoiler tags:
- They spend a very large proportion of time in two interwoven plots that lead exactly no where. You get the sense that the writer wrote one to place the character at the climax of the other, but that climax is just left flat with no satisfying explanation or narrative.
- The acting and characters are very one dimensional. Each is their own exact trope.
- Main character's story arch is completely unfullfilling and leaves you disappointed.

As for squid games, Im only on like ep. 4 or 5, but its great so far. I think theyre about to play the marble game, or something.

Battle Royale is just a Japanese take on a Stephen King short story, The Long Walk. The form of competition is different but I have always felt Battle Royale was inspired by The Long Walk.

Your last point is on point, it imitates life exactly. Very satifying finale for me.
