The biggest irony being that, so far, the best characters in the game have turned out to be the F2P friendly ones (Xingqiu, Xiangling, Bennett, etc).

Thanks I might try it. I keep hearing good things about it. And I love how colorful the graphics are. I don't know why but for some reason I was thinking it was con or a something so I downloaded i and never started. I don' know what got me thinking that.

The games pretty fun, I play it daily. But just remember its a gacha game with mobile players in mind. So theres a FOMO factor with time limited characters and you need to pay real money to get them all, and daily activity is limited by an energy system but this wont really affect you for your first few weeks/months you play since you will have all the quests and exploration content to do of which theres a ton

Yeah it kinda is, with the very very important caveat that you roll a good few characters with your initial free wishes and/or are OK with spending $500 a month on building your team.

It's an amazing game that has the potential to sink its hooks in me I can already tell, but I often find myself getting frustrated with the fact that my team sucks and I got like 10 shitty characters to choose from so I end up just logging off. Just feels like a waste to keep progressing bad characters with a bad type spread that straight up can't beat some elements. Which of course, is all intentional, so you try your hand at the predatory gacha system.

Don't let this fool you. Endgame is grinding artifacts (equipment) with a 1% chance of obtaining something half decent per week, or something better than what you have that only provides marginal improvement.
