Hammer is very versatile with both its combat abilities and need for solving certain puzzles. Its my favorite one to use. Then Sleep is generally just a joke/trap move. Good for a laugh, but nothing else.

All of them, yes. I never miss one.

Yes, he and King Dedede are my two best characters.

Play Kirbys Adventure first. It paints a nice picture as to what the series is about. Its also one of the best.

Sure did! I played Adventure and Super Star first as a kid. Then I played Dream Land once I got a Game Boy.

1. Most of them, aside from some of the lesser spinoffs
2. Hell yeah
3. No, and no
4. Kirbys Return to Dreamland on the Wii. Plenty of multiplayer and single player content, very traditional gameplay with some modern twists.
5. I did, but not on Gameboy, on the Dream Collection. My first Kirby was actually Tilt n Tumble on Gameboy Color. My first real Kirby was Nightmare in Dreamland

Worst: Plasma Kirby, because the button mashing required physically hurts.

Good at close range and long range, deal a lot of damage and offer immunity

Yay.

Best: Yo-Yo, with Ninja at a close second.
Worst: Stone. Sleep might be useless, but at least you don't have to drag it around Great Cave Offensive to solve puzzles. I know you could use helpers, but they usually die pretty fast.

Best: Suplex (grapple abilities are by far the most fun ability to do solo game/arena runs with)
Worst: Light (Sleep is at least used in a bunch of puzzles as an obstacle really well. Light is legitimately worthless)

All mainline and all of the spin-offs released before Return To Dreamland! Didn't go back for the spin-offs that were just expanded sub-games from the Kumazaki games.

Q2. Do you like to play as Kirby in Smash Bros.?

Not really, he's really slow in Smash and they take away a lot of his fun and quick movement options to balance him, plus he's remarkably stubby compared to the rest of the cast.

Q3. Does this topic make you think of ertyu? Do you miss him?

I have many other things to associate with Kirby than ertyu. I like those better.

Q4. Which Kirby game would you recommend to someone who has never played one?

Super Star if you have a friend to play with co-op. With Switch Online, that's a lot easier than it was before. Planet Robobot if you're only interested in the single-player experience. Kirby 64 if you want something you can 100% in a day and just feel kinda cozy while playing.

Q5. Kirby's first game was on the Gameboy! Did you play that?

Yup!

Probably around half of them. Never tried some of the more gimmicky ones, or Triple Deluxe/Robobot.

Yeah, he's one of my mains. It's fun that he can sometimes use the copy ability better than its owner can.

Q2. Yes! Been playing him since the 64 days, even when he was Kirby-tier in Melee (though I've dropped him a bit since Ultimate)

Oh whoops my Best/Worst post never went through from earlier at lunch.

BEST: Mike. Weaponized Poyo. Runner up: Wheel, to the point where its mechanics were cribbed for an awesome Megaman romhack.
WORST: Stone. Teaches bad habits in Smash, breaks flow if you're trying to go fast, and doesn't do much beyond looks cute (although big runner up to Fire/Ice combo in 64.)

Oh man, this is too difficult! There are so many good choices!

It is not clear to me whether the combination copy abilities from Crystal Shards are eligible or just all of the single abilities.

If combos are allowed:

Best: Electric Boulder Yo-Yo Kirby (Stone + Spark)
Worst: Melting Ice Cube Kirby (Fire + Ice)

If combos are not allowed:

Best: Whip Kirby
(I am usually a traditionalist, but I love this one. Very stylish and fun to use!)
Worst: Copy
(I like T.A.C., and I realize that this ability works differently and thus has some potential use, but there is still no avoiding that it is simply a different way of using the power that Kirby has by default!)
