But I kinda get it for those who are African American and cite Tuskegee. Sympathy might be a bit too far though.

are you insinuating that Black people, as a community, were ignorant to the Tuskegee experiments until COVID?

hard D here. it's a stance rooted in ignorance. countless papers and studies and medicine and science that confirm the safety of the vaccines are coming out of the medical community, not the government. mistrust the government, fine, but dont misdirect that distrust at the doctors who are just trying to save lives. every. single. person. who chooses to refuse the vaccine is partially responsible for this pandemic not ending.

I agree with this post, but it is difficult to not focus on "hard D" when reading it

The Tuskegee experiment is a bad comparison. That was the government refusing to treat black people who had syphilis and just sitting back and watching all the symptoms they experienced, including death.

The covid vaccines are being pushed by the government in attempt to prevent people from getting severe covid infections, long term symptoms, and death.

are you doubling down on your insinuation that Black people didn't know what the Tuskegee experiments were? why would you even think that? maybe YOU just learned about it and you are just projecting your own ignorance.

I get that you, TC, might have trouble telling the difference between the two situations, but you don't need to assume an entire race suffers from that same lack of thought.

I didn't. I said those who are African American and cite Tuskegee as a reason for not getting it. That's not the entire race.

Citing the Tuskegee experiment as a reason not to get a vaccine displays an incredible amount of ignorance about what the Tuskegee experiment was. That isn't a comparable situation to covid and vaccines in general.

I said I get it, not that I support it or think it's valid. Y'all really wanna crucify me for only showing no sympathy to 99.9% of anti vaxxers.

Tuskegee is a dumb excuse.

Refusing vaccination means you're participating in a similar experiment

I think the more important thing anyways is the fact that white people are getting the vaccine just fine.
