Yeah, but if we really give up all hope then there will never be change.

I do wish evil like literally changing the algorithm to optimize for engagement in a way they knew made people more angry is something we could gather up and fight against.

If there was ever something to organize and try to fight/cancel it would be that shit. It's like the root of all the other hate that festers online.

I don't know how to fight it, but I feel like if I totally give into cynicism I'm enabling them to be evil. And I don't want to do that.

The only real "answer" is a paid social site, which has no real need to appease or even have advertisers.

I do have Instagram, but I upload nothing, I have no personal info there, and no pictures.

I just use it to follow some athletes and teams, and thots. Lotsa thots.

Oh I don't. This forum is the closest thing I have to social media.

Still, this is different than a bad show or something where I can just watch, this is an economy based off of profiting off the worst in humanity. So I want to push back wherever I can.

It's an important issue to care about. IMO
