I dislocated mine a little over two years ago. To this day not only does it not point straight up (which I understand is common), but it is still tender and requires me to crack/massage it multiple days a week in order to relieve pain. The side also juts out and lmk think its because of all the cartilage.

Ive been to the doctor multiple times and they all assure me that this is normal and that it wont ever heal 100%. I just feel like this is worse than it should be. Ive had X-rays taken since the injury and apparently nothing is wrong with it.

Im just confused because I know people and see sports players dislocate their pinkies all the time and they get right back to the swing of things in no time. I remember when I first dislocated mine it was so painful and took about two months before I was even able to use it in any manner.

i haven't, sorry. our bodies just get screwed up over time and we learn to deal.

what did you do for initial treatment? maybe they didn't set your bones correctly and it's just grown back in an odd way.

not quite the same, but i once tore a tendon (i think) in my ring finger while playing sportsball. i literally couldn't lift my finger for weeks. the health center put it in a little cast and it magically got better on its own

You did indeed stab me in the back. However, you are only level one, whilst I am level 50. That means I should remain uninjured.

Well my friend reset it immediately, which is recommended over waiting to arrive at a hospital. I went to the hospital the next day where they gave me a splint and had me ice it for weeks.

Is your friend actually medically trained to do such a thing or did they just do it, because you absolutely shouldn't reset a dislocation if you don't know what you're doing. You run a huge risk of causing other damage to the joint and ligaments and stuff. Waiting until the next day to go to the hospital also was a bad idea.

Didn't dislocate but I did hurt my middle finger and it never fully recovered. It's a bit bent and cracks more easily. No pain though.

Any soft tissue stuff never truly heals 100%. A clean break properly cared for is long term better than a nasty sprain.
