Even so, hundreds apply, but only a few are selected. If you seriously want to be a moderator, you'll likely (but not always) need to have a history on GameFAQs that makes you recognizable to the majority of the user-base for several years to even be considered. There's thousands of boards on gamefaqs, some of which the majority of users on this site don't even know exist. You'd have to have some extremely serious dedication to the site to make yourself not only visible, but recognizable in a positive light "to the majority of the user base" of the site.
