Do you think the grand jury are idiots?

27 y/o Jared Benjamin Lafer, the white man who ran over a BLM Protester in Tennessee last year will NOT be charged because a grand jury said there's NOT ENOUGH EVIDENCE despite video evidence of him doing it AND him bragging of doing it on social media!!

He drove his SUV through a group of activists at a BLM rally last year in Johnson City and then sped away from the scene leaving the man with a concussion, brain bleed and 2 broken legs

He also braggeda bout it on facebook brainding it "great!"

His lawyer's argued he "feared for his family's life" who were also in the car

He was originally charged with aggravated assault, a class c felony

But a grand jury dismissed all charges after returning a "no true" bill finding the jurors didn't find enough evidence he committed a crime which is surprising given all the evidence they witnessed

Cellphone video shows him running over the protester and narrowly mising his DOG and a second person

Rather than check on the person, he sped away and then called a LAWYER when he got home and turned himself in 2 days later after admitting hit was him

Victoria Hewlett recorded the incident and said protesters were obeying crosswalk and traffic laws before mentioning Lafer pulled up behind her car and swerved around her aggressively and ran directly into them

Jonathan Bowers was the man who was hit as he recalled screaming in pain when he regained consciousness as people said they protesters were not aggressive at all

But his defense that he, his wife and 3 kids were TERRIFIED and he had to do what he had ot do and the jury agreed..

Lafer is a real estage agent who worked for Coldwell Banker King but he was FIRED from the company

When Hewlett was told of the no charges verdict, she reacted with a jaded look hardly looking surprised stating "I'm obviously appalled by the whole process. But i had been getting trickles of information that the charges were getting reduced so i wasn't super hopeful. It's just been a slow burn of they're going to let this guy get away with this that's how it always goes"

Not long after he was set free, Lafer bragged AGAIN on social media stating he got away with running down people and that TRUMP wins again!!

Do you think the grand jury are idiots?

A similar thing happened to my wife. A guy on a motorcycle crashed into her car while she was stopped at a red light. The cops showed up and the dude was clearly at fault but then his parents showed up to the scene along with one of the departments superiors. They arrived together.

They all had a conversation that she wasnt privy to and a different officer came over and explained that she had been found at fault for the accident and that she was free to dispute it in court if she disagreed, and then they all left.

When she showed up in court the judge said that she had been found to have not stopped at a stop sign which caused an accident. It made no sense whatsoever. She was afraid of what could happen if she disputed it so she paid a fine and that was the end of it. But it was wrong.

A lot of people dont realize how corrupt US cops are, but it happens everyday to all kinds of people.

...because he was gloating after the fact, which doesn't necessarily speak to that moment. There are other motorists have been dragged out of their car and badly beaten during these protests.

[EDIT: Wasn't the incident I was thinking of, which was an event that included video of the car being attacked. This one has no video before it happened.]

No shit he's not going to stop. If they were going to hurt him before, they'd kill him after that.

Those two things are literally nothing alike.
