A true classic. The history on display mixed in with fantastical sci-fi/fantasy is at its peak in creativity and usage. Characters like Leonardo Da Vinci feel as fully fleshed as any other fictional character. Major themes of conspiracy and religion are used in tandem for a compelling & thrilling adventure, propulsed by a far more interesting framing device than the first game for better pacing. AC ALMOST never got better than this (if IV didn't exist).

Ezio was a major upgrade over Altair in terms of, well, everything, which made it easier to get invested. The revenge plot was pretty good, and I loved the Renaissance setting. The ending is very memorable as well, even if it's partially for how ludicrous it is at times (fistfighting the Pope aw yeah)

My memories are definitely a little hazy as it sort of blends with Brotherhood to me.

Ezio is pretty awesome (I like Altair though) and even the Desmond story feels pretty interesting here (though maybe not as compelling as the first game). I think it's definitely hurt by the ending being a bit too dependent on a sequel.

Let's just throw a lazy 7 on it.

Probably one of the best wire-to-wire stories in gaming, with no real low-spots and building towards one of the best "WTF" endings ever.

Best Assassin's Creed story and game but that isn't saying much at all.

The series has really soured on me with its then yearly releases and how fucking unfun in every imaginable way that Valhalla was.
