Nintendos online has been substandard at best. Theyre lacking basic features that other online services included as a standard over a decade ago. So naturally people dont think its fair to bump the price up if theyre going to continue to not provide these basic features.

Because thats stupid and greedy, and people like you defending it are why they do it.

There is no reason people shouldnt be able to just buy N64 games on the shop like every other game.

Itd be like if Sony came out with PS+ Premium that costs more than regular Plus and you have to be subbed to that to buy PS1/PS2 games

People would be (rightfully) annoyed by it.

doubling the price of the entire service and only adding two new emulators? if that's the case i will definitely pass.

If they double the annual price, they better start churning out Genesis and N64 games weekly or something. That's way too much of an increase with how slowly they add new games to their emulators.

They're 25-30 year old games that run poorly. Charging anything extra instead of just including it in the cost right now is some greedy shit. Nickel and diming customers just because they can.

I just want a proper fucking Virtual Console with a system and game library of all previous VCs. I'd much rather pay $5-$20 each for the games I want than $20-$40/year for like three good games and a pile of poop.

Thats the other thing. Ive wanted them to release a virtual console since day one, but they havent.

The online infrastructure is garbage as is, the pittance of NES and SNES games barely even scratch the surface in terms of providing value, and now they want MORE money for a half dozen N64 games and a Genesis emulator that has been released on every other system ad nauseum?

Yea, fuck Nintendo. It's a greed move, and nothing more. They know that if they slap a rom of Mario 64 and OOT behind a paywall, they'll sell a shitload more subscriptions for their garbage online. That's 100% the motivation here, and nothing more.

look I think nintendo fucking sucks right now, they constantly shit out lazy rehashes and remakes with the occasional diamond in the rough, but giving the option to pay a little bit more for some more games is not a big deal
