Claiming it looks like a Wii or GameCube game is just wrong though. --- My dumb macbook pro has broken L and T keys because apple prioritized thinness over a keyboard that doesn't break. A lot of people saw a heavily watered down resolution due to the stream, and this notion snowballed with the cell-shaded graphics that naturally can have a washed out or flat look when theyre at their worst. Nintendo is a little counterintuitive on that note. Their pre-release stuff tends to actually look way worse than the final product. The inverse is true with Sony & Microsoft. edit I think people are also catching onto some of the style, engine, and templates they used (which have a bit of an indie/retro feel, and it works for Metroid really well from what I can see) having giant globs, lasers, & arcs of colorful light everywhere doesnt help.
